Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, equity firm Silver Lake, and Jared Kushner's Affinity partners have completed their $55 billion acquisition of EA Sports FC, Battlefield, The Sims, Mass Effect and Dragon Age publisher EA. What if Stop Killing Games win? Anthem, SpaceCraft and Warframe devs on the "massive undertaking" of preserving an always-online game

Sci-fantasy shooter Warframe is the sexy cyborg fruit of 13 years of updates and expansions, encompassing scores upon scores of quests, areas, plotlines, systems and characters, together with a huge quantity of player-made art. Much of Warframe's original design still exists within the game, however tweaked and refreshed: the developers have removed a few larger chunks, including the underloved PvP raids, but they've mostly sought to polish up aspects that have lost their lustre, while playing out stories that range from spacey self-referentiality to commentary on indentured work. "Dragon Age: Origins wasn’t the most attractive game": BioWare's old series producer still thinks a DA remaster trilogy is worth it, but the knowhow isn't there

Former Dragon Age series producer Mark Darrah has shared his tuppence worth on the likelihood of BioWare and EA ever commissioning a full-on original Dragon Age trilogy remaster or remake. He thinks such a remastering or remakering would sell pretty well, not least because OG Dragon Age looks like a toilet bowl in a Silent Hill game (I exaggerate the sentiments here slightly). But he also thinks the odds of such a project are low, for the straightforward reason that nobody either inside or outside BioWare really understands the proprietary technology those older RPGs run on. Ah well. We'll always have the mods.

Dragon Age: Thedas at War is a BioWare RPG-inspired Crusader Kings 3 total conversion mod that's here to keep the series alive while it sits in EA limbo

Who knows when or if BioWare'll ever be allowed to make a follow-up to Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Whatever ends up being the future of a series EA've left in a rather ambiguous place, a group of Crusader Kings 3 modders have stepped up to make a Dragon Age total conversion that lets folks play out a bit of their own kingdom-battling history in Thedas.
