I rarely talk or think about regrets, if at all. But today, I’m going to share one with you…in the hope that you don’t make the same boneheaded mistake I did.
It was the early 2000s, and I was the founder of a tech startup. Broadband Internet was getting rolled out, and I knew the Internet was going to be huge.
My gut was telling me to move my tech startup to Silicon Valley. There, I’d have better access to capital, the right talent, and, most importantly, an environment where everyone was on the same path. As they say, proximity is power.
I ummed and erred about the decision. There were many reasons not to relocate - I’d be far away from family, tech stocks were severely down, and there were costs I hadn’t planned on. I stayed put.
I justified it to myself in a million different ways, but the truth was I let fear, inertia, and being “sensible” make the decision for me.
And while you can never know how things would have turned out, I strongly suspect that not listening to my gut in this instance cost me hundreds of millions of dollars. I watched startup after startup with almost identical products as mine IPO or exit for billions.
Look, don’t cry for me. I’ve done OK. I still exited that business for more money than I’d ever seen in my life and made investments that have created generational wealth.
Fast forward to today. The same way I knew in the early 2000s that the Internet would be huge is exactly how I feel right now about AI.
Can you feel it?
This time, I’m not making the same mistake. I’m going all in.
While I’m no longer in tech, my team and I have created a plan to TRIPLE our revenue this year without adding any new staff — by leveraging AI. We’re putting a huge amount of time, money, and personnel into AI-enabling our whole business.
The tools and processes we’re implementing are absolutely mind-blowing. This rabbit hole goes deep. Far deeper than just ChatGPT and how to use prompts. It touches every process in your business.
As I said in my book Lean Marketing, “AI won’t take your job or disrupt your business, but someone using AI will.”
AI is making marketing and business faster, easier, and cheaper. If you don’t leverage it, your competitors will. That’s not a scenario you want to find yourself in.
That’s exactly why I hosted a deep-dive webinar on AI & Marketing: What You Need to Know for 2025 (And Beyond).
In it, I cover:
✅ How AI is driving business efficiency, innovation, and growth
✅ The two mindset shifts you need to maximize AI’s impact
✅ The exact AI tools we’re using to streamline marketing, content creation, and decision-making
✅ How to prompt AI for better, more precise outputs (so you don’t waste time on garbage results)
✅ Real-world use cases and strategies you can implement right now
If you missed it, the good news is you can still watch the full recording.

The opportunity with AI is massive—but only if you take action.
In the early 2000s, I had a window of opportunity and snoozed on it. The only question is, will you?
